Rack Assembly Instructions

• Assembling PolyCrystal racks is a simple process. To ensure successful assembly, follow the sequence below:

Figure A

Place the wood front face frame on the floor with the holes facing down, so they are sandwiched together. The back frame is the piece with the 4 holes which go all the way through.

2  Insert the threaded rod through the 4 holes and screw it into the front frame.

Screw the four T-nuts onto the four rods (only one turn) then screw the four PolyCrystal brass spikes into the bottom of the rack.

Take two of the wood braces and screw in four spikes (two spikes in each brace). These two cross braces are now the top cross braces.

Figure B

5  Stand up the frames and separate them.

6  Slide the cross braces onto the threaded rod. If the cross braces don't fit, loosen the T-nuts or the rod until they do.

7  Tighten the T-nuts just enough to hold the cross braces in place (not too tight!) so you can level and adjust the shelves later after placing them on the frame.

Figure C

8  Insert four brass pins into the holes under the bottom cross braces. Place one of the shelves on these bottom pins. Place another shelf on the brass spikes that are located on the top cross braces.

9  Insert the brass pins in the holes you desire for the third and additional shelves (if any) and position those shelves as desired.

10  If your shelves are unstable, adjust the brass spikes on the bottom of the rack until the wobbling stops. You can also try re-positioning the entire rack by an inch or two (many floors are not even or level).

11  When the shelves are stable, tighten up the T-nuts on the back of the rack. Level the top shelf, if necessary, by adjusting the appropriate inverted spike.

• IMPORTANT: In two weeks, check the T-nuts to ensure they are snug (environmental factors can cause wood expansion and shrinkage). Repeat this process 45 days later, and annually thereafter to ensure the best resonance control.
