XXXTips & Tricks for Better Performance

PolyCrystal component isolation racks offer the timeless elegance of simple, clean lines and superb craftsmanship. The result is a viable system component that actually enhances the performance of your music system by dampening and decoupling sound-smearing resonance.

The improvement in sound is so noticeable, PolyCrystal racks were added to Stereophile's list of Recommended Components (as opposed to being relegated to the Accessories listings)!

In Jonathan Scull's review of the PolyCrystal racks in the November 2000 issue of Stereophile, he said:

"PolyCrystal racks... tightened up the sounds of a wide variety of equipment, the improvements most often noticeable in the bass.

"Imaging and focus usually improved, as did the interstitial quiet, which raised the level of overall palpability, air, and transparency. ...I seldom met a component that didn't like PolyCrystal. Highly recommended."

Scull is in a position to know, having used PolyCrystal components extensively in his authoritative testing of numerous speakers and electronic components for audiophile publications.

Scull's colleague, Marshall Nack, wrote this in the April 2001 issue of The Stereo Times:

"There was a drastic change in the soundstage. I was startled at how crisp, clear and focused it had become. Images attained a new feeling of solidity. The room's dimensions seemed to have expanded. Nothing subtle about it!"

The rack frames are crafted of natural, solid hardwood frames (no MDF, veneers or plywood). The standard finishes include natural oak, unstained oak (which you can stain and finish to complement your home décor) and superior high gloss black oak. They are also available in numerous hardwoods at additional cost, from Alder to Zebra (ask your dealer for details).

The adjustable shelves are created from our proprietary PolyCrystal material, a unique material specifically tuned to extract the highest performance from your music system. Shelves are available in two performance levels: 1" High Density (HD) for superior resonance damping compared to competing racks, and 1" Ultra High Density (UHD) PolyCrystal for twice the damping of our HD shelves.

The available rack heights are 18", 31" and 42". The 18" unit includes two shelves standard, and the 31" and 42" racks each come with three shelves standard. The racks can be expanded by adding additional shelves, which are available at additional cost (see your dealer for details).

The racks feature a flexible design that allows you to grow your racking system as you grow your music system. Yet, unlike competing racks, ours do not require disassembly to add more shelves. PolyCrystal racks are also available in custom heights (see you dealer for details).

The standard shelf depth is 15", but any rack can be ordered with 19" deep racks for an additional charge. However, the racks are upgradable so you can start with 15" shelves now and upgrade to 19" shelves later.

Frame Support is provided by four brass speaker spikes coated with PolyCrystal material. They decouple the rack from unwanted vibration and improve resonance damping. These spikes are adjustable as well, allowing you to level the entire stand on uneven floors. An additional four spikes are inverted to support the top shelf, each adjustable to allow precise leveling. This suits it ideally for your most sensitive component.
